Language in London requires a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational and social skills with a real interest in the provision of high quality cultural excursions for international students who study, live, work and socialise in London. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, organise and deliver a varied an unique programme of social activities for clients to ensure their experience with Language in London is culturally rich and memorable.

Language in London is the first school in the world to win the British Council’s prize for innovation in English teaching. This is a boutique school with an emphasis on modern language teaching using digital resources. We are based in central London, located only seconds from the British Museum.

Timetable: 20 hours – 40 hours. The role requires flexibility. Hours can vary week to week depending on student numbers.

Contract term: Permanent

Salary: £8.80 per hour + 25 days holiday. (Some of which should be taken when the school is closed at Christmas + UK Public Holidays).

Language in Group Young Learner Summer Centres – Staff needed for 2016!

The Language in Group is an innovative and high quality group of English language schools, is seeking motivated, positive and creative staff members for our 4 summer young learner centres in England and Ireland.

In 2016 the LinG Young Learner summer centres will be:

UK: London (Whitelands), Totnes (Devon)

Ireland: Dublin (South & Central)

Positions available:

  • Director of Studies: Responsible for the overall management of the academic programme, including student welfare and behaviour, staffing and relations with clients.

Qualifications: First Degree and DELTA or equivalent, 4 years minimum teaching experience. Experience of academic management of a Young Learner centre is     desirable.

  • Assistant Director of Studies: Will support the teachers and the Director of Studies in the delivery of the academic programme and work closely with students to ensure high student satisfaction.

Qualifications: First Degree and ideally DELTA or equivalent, 3 years minimum     teaching experience.

  • Centre Manager: Responsible for overseeing the day to day running of a LinG Summer Centre. The role involves managing a team of activity leaders and an activity manager to successfully run a full social programme, and liaising with a Centre DOS to manage an academic programme and team of teachers. The Centre Manager will liaise daily with Group Leaders, students and staff to monitor quality and follow up on feedback. The team should maintain a high quality, safe and enjoyable programme in accordance with the Language in Group vision and mission. Experience of managing a Young Learner centre is desirable.
  • EFL Teachers: Responsible for delivering our hugely popular Dynamic English course, ensuring lessons are fun and motivating for our young learners (between 11 and 17 year olds). There are both full and part time positions, residential and non- residential posts available.

Qualifications: CELTA or equivalent

  • Play With English Teachers

Delivering our unique curriculum  for Young Learners (7-11year olds) through interactive and fun lessons.

Qualifications: Must have experience in teaching Young Learners, Celta or equivalent and ideally a PGCE.

  • Activity Leaders

Responsible for planning and running a variety of sports, creative arts, and cultural activities, and supervising students on local excursions.
